time

Lately, I’ve been thinking a lot about time. ⁣

⁣Time in terms of how we live our life.⁣

How we spend our time.⁣

The big moments and the small. ⁣

Or when things reveal themselves to us...⁣

Thinking back to my first solo trip, ⁣

I was so excited to finally get to Bryce Canyon, that I didn’t plan for how much time it would take me to get through. ⁣

[You hike down into the canyon- then back up...]⁣

I drove several hours from my previous spot, so I ended up starting my hike around 2:00 pm. ⁣

⁣Well, let’s just say- around 4:30, panic started to set in. That sun was setting. ⁣

⁣I didn’t know how much longer it would take me to get out of the canyon. ⁣

⁣I picked up the pace, found some other people, and studied the trails, trying to find a way out that would get me out before dark. ⁣

I did. By the skin of my teeth. ⁣

[Since then, I’ve been very aware of how I map my trips out]

Unrelated- but totally related... @jesseitzler said something that really hit me- he said, “How you do anything is how you do everything.”⁣

At that time in Bryce, much of my life consisted of me not being present. And it was within everything I did. ⁣

I was going to and fro- but a lot of the time, I was just going through the motions. ⁣

I have thought about Jesse’s quote every day since I heard it about a month ago. It came into my life at the right time for me to hear it.

I want to be here- to be fully present. ⁣

And- plan for time to enjoy that present moment. ⁣

Cuz the sun will go down. ⁣
