just say something
I was reminded of that yesterday.
I’m traveling- but not solo this time. When we were by the pool at our hotel, I noticed a woman laying out, with an incredible tattoo of a lion on her arm.
The next morning- in the middle of our hike, I recognized that same tattoo. We passed each other. We were hiking to the falls and she was coming from- It all happened really fast- but I noticed her.
Later that day, by the pool- and only when I was by myself- I went to her and said “Hey, did you hike to Seven Falls today?” She said “yes” - That was her.
Several things happened.
She said, “I thought I noticed you too...”.
First, of all-, I am always in my head that I Never would have thought someone would have thought the same thing I did.
Second, I realized I approached her when I was alone. If I was with people- I would have talked myself out of it. (She must want to be alone. She’s got her headphones on, etc.)
Well, I did say something.
And we proceeded to talk for a couple of hours. We had crazy things in common- and traits that were similar. She is a solo traveler [I swear, we must find each other.] I feel like I found an old friend. It was really lovely.
So- although I wasn’t on a solo journey, I realized that I can take some of the things I enjoy about traveling alone and put them into practice wherever I am.
When it was time to leave, she asked if we could hug. And I said “yes!” I was actually thinking the same thing.
So, @cooplikesbikes thank you.
And next time- remind me to ask about your lion tattoo. 😎❤️🤘
