rainy day
I had a rainy day in Sedona.
That sounds so spoiled to me. But, I was bummed. I knew it was coming, I’m like a ninja with my weather apps- doing outdoor events does it to you- so, I went up early the day before to take advantage of the sun.
But this day- it was cold and rainy.
I decided to go to the Amitabha Stupa & Peace Park anyway. I go every trip and it always soothes my soul.
One thing I noticed- the clouds make the mountains more defined. They give them shape. That might sound strange, but I have been a fair-weather hiker (thus far).
There were parts of the mountains that I never knew existed because I couldn’t see the space in between.
Well, that hit me like a rock.
[pun intended]
How often do we only share the sunny parts of ourselves? God knows I do it.
There is this incredible experience in the cold, rainy parts- maybe it’s where we can reveal more.
I really enjoyed seeing the mountain that way. I felt like I learned so much more about it. From far away they look flat. With the clouds, they were surrounded in pillows.
And then, when the sun was out- I was able to still see outlines of that new space- not clearly- but I loved it that much more- just because I knew it was there.
